Resumo: Este artigo trata da integração da Escola Médica em cenários diversificados de ensino-aprendizagem, tendo em vista as inúmeras críticas no setor; quanto à inadequação e insuficiência do conteúdo disciplinar, ao formar médicos despreparados para abordagem da clientela em ambiente extra-hospitalar e distanciados da realidade de trabalho necessária a sociedade. Discorre-se sobre as propostas de novos cenários de prática no âmbito do ensino médico a partir de órgãos oficiais - tais como ABEM, CINAEM, Ministérios da Educação e da Saúde, OPAS - no sentido de inserir as Escolas Médicas nas discussões em torno de um novo modelo de atenção a saúde da população. Nesse processo de integração com as escolas, o SUS tem papel fundamental como cenário, através da rede de unidades de saúde. Práticas de extensão universitária, articulando ensino e pesquisa, igualmente proporcionam contato de professores e alunos com realidades sociais. A seguir, apresentam-se algumas experiências desenviolas por algumas Escolas Médicas do pais, em cenários diversos; tais como escolas e serviços da rede básica de saúde. Por fim, apresentamos nossa experiência curricular de integração ensinoserviço junto à UNIGRANRIO, no município de Duque de Caxias, Estado do Rio de Janeiro.
Abstract: This article deals with the integration of Medical School in several teaching-learning scenarios in light of the inadequacy and insufficiency of course contents, to the extent that Medical School trains physicians who are unprepared to treat health system clients in non-hospital settings and are estranged from society's health needs. The article expounds on proposals for new settings for practices in medical education based on the position of official agencies, including the Brazilian Association for Medical Education (ABEM), Inter-Institutional Commíssion for the Evaluation of Medical Education (CINAEM), the Ministries of Education and Health, and the Pan-Ameriam Health Organization (PAHO), in the sense of including Medical Schools in the discussions on a new health care model for the Brazilian population. In this process of integration with the schools, the United National Health System (SUS) plays a central role as a setting, through the networlk of health care units. University extension activitics linking teaching and research also provide contact between faculty and students and various social realities. The article goes on to discuss experiences developed by several Medical Schools in Brazil in various settings, such as schools and primary health care services. The authors conclude by presenting their curricular experience with the integration of teaching and health services at UNIGRANRIO in the municipality of Duque de Caxias in Rio de Janeiro state.
